Position: Engineering Manager – Optical Materials
Hours: Full time

Description:
EpiWorks is seeking an Optical Materials Manager who will manage the technical aspects of EpiWorks’ optical materials product line with emphasis on new products and customer interaction. These products include GaAs-based lasers wafers (edge emitters and VCSELs) from 650-1100 nm, as well as InP-based laser wafers operating from 1200 nm to 1900 nm. Responsibilities range from close customer interaction, to developing and implementing processes for meeting customer specifications, transferring processes to Production, and to managing related engineering resources.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Interact with customers’ applications engineers
- Develop, program and implement MOCVD processes
- Develop fabrication processes and tests for new materials and devices
- Transfer processes to production
- Provide technical support for production
- Manage collaborations and projects
- File patents and develop intellectual property portfolio

Requirements:
Preferred Experience:
- MOCVD growth and materials characterization
- Process development
- Optical device characterization
- Management experience
- Demonstrated high level of communication skills
- Ph.D. and a minimum of 5 years in the industry
