Quality Coordinator

Overview:

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking a Quality Coordinator to support its 24×7 semiconductor manufacturing operations.  This position supports the company’s ISO 9001:2015 Quality system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of procedures and work instructions including the control of documents required by the quality management system (QMS).
  • Assist in documenting and controlling specifications for direct materials used in production.
  • Maintain the results of supplier audits, surveys and evaluations based on the supplier’s ability to provide products meeting specifications and requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to provide information on whether the quality management system conforms to the requirements of the company’s QMS and ISO 9001:2008
  • Understand and proactively resolve the varied Intellectual Property (IP) needs of internal and external stakeholders to ensure IP is controlled.
  • Support contract control including IP agreements, technical specifications, document management, change management, and compliance in executing contracts.
  • Support compliance with U.S. Government export / import regulations and company policy by maintaining company procedures and instructions
  • Performs duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations required by Company, Federal, State and Local provisions. (Safety)
  • Performs other duties within the scope of job assignment as assigned by Supervisor

Requirements Include:

  • Two year Associate Degree or Bachelors of Science degree.
  • Prior Quality Technician / Auditor / Inspector Experience (1-2 years)

Commercial HVAC Technician

Overview

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking a 2nd shift Commercial HVAC Technician to support its 24×7 semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position will be assigned responsibilities for heating, ventilation and a/c systems comprising of boilers, chillers, fans, heat exchangers, duct work, and similar related types of equipment.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, maintain and assess operating efficiency of HVAC and building mechanical systems.
  • Ability to check and maintain chemical treatments.
  • Install and replace heating and ventilation equipment according to prints, schematics, specifications, or other instructions.
  • Troubleshoot fire alarm systems
  • Operate and maintain computer automated control systems.
  • Coordinate projects with outside contractors.
  • Order and secure materials for jobs as needed.
  • Comply with all applicable corporate, local, state and federal regulations, policies, and established work practices.

Requirements Include

  • Associates or Technical Certificate in HVAC and five or more years work experience with commercial HVAC systems.
  • Experience with hazardous area safety requirements involving liquid fuels, gas fuels and refrigerants.
  • Understanding of industrial OSHA safety regulations
  • Strong written and oral communications skills
  • Experience writing equipment specifications and operating procedures

Logistics Technician(Tuesday-Saturday Position)

Overview:

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking to fill a position responsible for shipping and receiving of materials for its semiconductor manufacturing operations.  This position supports sales, shipping, receiving, engineering, and manufacturing operations within the company’s ISO 9001:2015 quality system.  Responsible for coordinating documentation and data for products, the position provides critical checks for all incoming and outgoing shipments.  An educational background in computer science or business systems along with strong analytical and data processing skills is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enter Sales Orders, and track subsequent changes to quotations, customer orders, and sales orders in the business system including the generation of packing lists, shipping labels and packaging product for shipment.
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving including generation of certificates of conformance (C of C) for outbound shipments, and interpretation of  inbound C of C for direct materials
  • Familiarity with business systems and database systems (preferably SQL) including queries, reports and search functions.
  • Control the inventory of raw materials, finished goods, by physically stocking the material and entering transactions in the business system.
  • Manage Vendor owned containers, including, receiving, stocking, and returning these containers.
  • File and Archive documents and materials.

Requirements Include:

  • Careful attention to detail.
  • Strong troubleshooting and multitasking abilities.

Operations Shift Supervisor

Overview:

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking to fill 2nd and 3rd shift supervisory roles in a semiconductor cleanroom manufacturing environment under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. This position will be responsible for planning and supervising on-shift operations activities to meet daily production and quality goals. Candidates must possess good written and oral communications abilities and be able to direct and motivate on-shift personnel. Candidates must have a strong technical aptitude and prior experience supervising nonexempt employees.

Engineering Manager

Overview:

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking Engineering Manager who will oversee development and production of GaN-based Epitaxial products under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The GaN Manager will oversee an engineering team responsible for data and analytics of the development of new products, and provide engineering support of custom production process, primarily focused on GaN-based epi-designs.  This position requires advanced knowledge of compound semiconductor processes related to growth, metrology, fabrication and testing. Excellent communication and organizational skills, and proven abilities in production control, problem solving, project management and personnel management are required.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage engineering team responsible for epitaxial growth of GaN products
  • Manage production process data analytics and process data requirements
  • Ensure products conform to specifications and are delivered on schedule
  • Support and document processes, control plans, and FMEA
  • Analyze equipment and processes for improvements in throughput, quality and cost
  • Coordinate with Operations and Quality to transfer processes from development to production and to verify equipment is calibrated and maintained in accordance with procedures and control plans
  • Work with Quality and Operations to ensure equipment meets capabilities and tolerances requirements
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and support change management processes to improve metrics
  • Provide technical oversight and problem solving skills for MOCVD, characterization, fabrication and test equipment.

VCSEL Product Engineer

Overview: 

This role will support Operations and Engineering for our 24×7 MOCVD compound semiconductor epitaxial wafer manufacturing facility.  The Product Engineer will be responsible for strategic marketing activity and directly working with both internal and external customers – providing high level technical expertise for MOCVD process development and support.  This position requires advanced knowledge of semiconductor lasers and devices as they relate to wafer growth, metrology, fabrication and testing. Excellent communication and organizational skills, market knowledge, proven abilities in production control, problem solving, and project management skills are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Understand technical details of products – ranging from initial designs to volume production capacity and issues.  In-depth MOCVD and device knowledge.
  • Analyze internal and customer-fed databases to maximize product efficacy.
  • Statistically track/analyze device data from customers.
  • Collaborate with development and manufacturing engineering teams to determine product development and build schedules.
  • Work with finance to estimate project costs including ROIs and establish product costs through detailed yielded BOMs.
  • Strategic marketing.
  • Support sales and engineering product managers to cultivate customer relationships and establish broad understanding of customer applications and associated product use. Provide sales with engineering support to ensure customer requests and product inquiries are adequately addressed.
  • Lead improvements in reliability based on FA of devices and external data sources establishing root cause failures and appropriate corrective actions.
  • Review production data with process engineering (e.g., yield, cycle time, DL hours) across entire manufacturing process to facilitate continual improvement plans.
  • Collaborate with development and manufacturing on product roadmaps to meet forecasted industry demands.
  • Ensure products meet cost targets, performance specifications, expected reliability, and quality goals.
  • Assist in development of systems to maintain reports and record the company’s product/process data.
  • Assist with the continual improvement and creation of documenting operational procedures and protocols.  Establish disciplined Six Sigma (DMAIC, SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, etc.) approach to improvement and use 8 Disciplines of problem solving or equivalent tools to manage engineering activities.
  • Develop and execute new test procedures including validation, documentation and training.
  • Independently and collaboratively develop technical information; write application notes and product information sheets.
  • Perform failure analysis of defective components either through hands-on evaluation or interaction with contract service providers.
  • Manage multiple projects with multi-disciplinary indirectly reporting team members.

Requirements Include:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) or similar discipline and 3-5 years of experience in semiconductor laser manufacturing (strong knowledge of lasers and devices).  VCSEL device knowledge and experience preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance and improvement of the quality management system (QMS)
  • Compile and write control plans, procedures, work instructions and checklists for products as controlled documents within the QMS
  • Identify improvement opportunities through the use of statistics and problem solving techniques to improve and sustain process effectiveness
  • Assist as a quality lead in development and implementation of improvement plans to reduce variation about the mean of various process parameters
  • Assist in documenting and controlling specifications for direct materials used in production

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking a Senior MOCVD Engineer who will oversee the engineering aspects of the MOCVD production equipment platform under the ISO 9001 Quality Management System. The Senior Engineer will supervise an engineering team responsible for maintaining and improving the productivity of the manufacturing processes and equipment.   • Supervise the manufacturing team responsible for MOCVD equipment
  • Responsible for manufacturing equipment performance metrics and certain plant productivity requirements

MOCVD Equipment Engineer

Overview:

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking an MOCVD Engineer to support its 24×7 semiconductor manufacturing operations.  This position supports the MOCVD equipment within the company’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead equipment engineering and preventive maintenance activities in an ISO Class 6 clean room environment.
  • Lead troubleshooting and repair activities of assigned MOCVD equipment
  • Track and analyze causes of equipment downtime to improve maintenance practices
  • Design, install and test equipment upgrades and modifications to improve uptime, yield, cycle time and throughput
  • Perform FMEA studies and author and maintain action plans
  • Author and maintain work instructions and maintenance documents
  • New parts vendor qualification

MOCVD Epitaxial Process Engineer

Overview:

II-VI EpiWorks is seeking a MOCVD Process Engineer(s) to support and develop MOCVD growth processes for a 24×7 semiconductor manufacturing platform.  This position supports Operations and Engineering within the company’s ISO 9001:2008 Quality System.  In this role, MOCVD Process Engineers will work with both internal and external customers – providing high level technical expertise for MOCVD process development and support.  This position requires advanced knowledge of compound semiconductor processes related to growth, metrology, fabrication and testing.
